Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Aug 16, 2026 · Updated Aug 16, 2026
Stored XSS in bt_bb_shortcode in BoldThemes Bold Page Builder through 5.6.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in visiting browsers. The bt_bb_shortcode handler renders untrusted shortcode attributes without sufficient input sanitization or output escaping, storing markup that becomes executable JavaScript when a page is rendered. Contributor-level or higher access is required to create or edit the affected content, and the consequence is confined to script execution in browser sessions that render the crafted page.
