Stored script execution via decoded shortcode escapes
Published Mar 4, 2026 · Updated Mar 4, 2026
Stored XSS in Accessible Event Manager 3.7.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through a shortcode template. The mc_draw_template() function applies stripcslashes() at render time, decoding hex escapes such as \x3c after wp_kses_post() sanitized the saved value. Contributor-level access is sufficient, and the stored script executes in the browser of anyone who opens the affected page.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
