Authenticated arbitrary file write via absolute uniqueId
Published Feb 23, 2026 · Updated Feb 23, 2026
Path traversal in Traccar Server 6.11.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files outside the media directory. MediaManager.createFile passes an attacker-controlled absolute device uniqueId to Paths.get(mediaRoot, uniqueId, name), which discards the media root. Device create or edit and image-upload permissions are required; writable files are limited by the server process's filesystem privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
