CVE-2026-23516Network attack vector

Arbitrary JavaScript execution via unsanitized skeleton SVG

Published Jan 21, 2026 · Updated Jan 21, 2026

Stored XSS in CVAT 2.2.0 through 2.54.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in a victim's UI session via crafted skeleton data. Skeleton SVGs and sublabel names reach multiple innerHTML assignments without server-side validation or client-side sanitization, so event-handler attributes execute. Exploitation requires the victim to edit or view an attacker-created label or upload a crafted SVG, temporarily exposing every CVAT resource accessible to that session.
