CVE-2026-23373

Kernel warning via erroneous RSI return value

Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026

Improper return handling in the Linux Kernel RSI Wi-Fi driver allows local users to trigger a kernel warning during configuration. rsi_mac80211_config initializes status to -EOPNOTSUPP, so paths that perform no supported configuration change return an error that ieee80211_hw_conf_init treats as unexpected. Reachability requires the RSI driver and a matching configuration path; the default is only a warning, while panic_on_warn=1 turns it into a kernel panic.
