CVE-2026-23360

Service interruption via orphaned NVMe admin queue

Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026

Resource leak in the Linux Kernel NVMe host driver allows local users to interrupt service by triggering a controller reset. During reset, nvme_alloc_admin_tag_set() allocates a replacement admin queue without releasing a still-present previous queue, orphaning its resources. Reaching the flaw requires low-privileged local access and an affected NVMe controller; repeated resets consume kernel resources and disrupt availability.
