CVE-2026-23307

Out-of-bounds access via incorrect USB message length

Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds message parsing in the Linux kernel allows attackers to trigger an invalid buffer access via a malformed USB message. ems_usb_read_bulk_callback() treats transfer_buffer_length as received data length instead of using actual_length and fails to bound each parsed message against the completed transfer. Reachability requires attacker-controlled data from an EMS USB CAN interface; the upstream record does not state whether the access causes a crash or disclosure.
