CVE-2026-23302

Local service interruption via socket callback data race

Published Mar 25, 2026 · Updated Mar 25, 2026

Race condition in Linux Kernel 4.20 and later allows local users to interrupt service through concurrent socket callback access. The skmsg layer writes sk_data_ready and sk_write_space callback pointers while UDP, TCP, and AF_UNIX code reads them without single-access synchronization. Exploitation requires low local privileges and a hard-to-win concurrency race; the published impact is limited to system availability.
