Unauthenticated configuration tampering via whitelist gaps
Published Mar 6, 2026 · Updated Mar 6, 2026
Access-control bypass in SICK Lector83x and Lector85x before 2.8.0 allows remote attackers to modify settings through CROWN REST. The interface's incomplete whitelist omits internal testing directories, allowing unauthenticated placement of a manipulated parameter file. A reboot activates the file, enabling changes to network configuration and application parameters without credentials or user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
