Local denial of service via invalid free
Published Feb 14, 2026 · Updated Feb 14, 2026
Denial of service in the CephFS client in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to hang .snap directory access. In parse_longname(), str is advanced past the leading underscore while guarded by __free(kfree), so cleanup passes an interior pointer to kfree(). A mounted CephFS volume with snapshots and local directory-read access is required; triggering the flaw produces a kernel oops and leaves the listing hung.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
