Local memory exhaustion via unfreed DMA state
Published Feb 14, 2026 · Updated Feb 14, 2026
A memory leak in the AMD ACP3x PDM DMA driver in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to exhaust memory through audio capture. The acp_pdm_dma_close function clears the capture stream but fails to free the pdm_stream_instance stored in the PCM substream's private data. Exploitation requires access to PDM audio capture on a system with a compatible AMD Renoir or Cezanne APU, and repeated stream activity progressively consumes kernel memory until availability is lost.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
