Local kernel compromise via bonding slave use-after-free
Published Feb 14, 2026 · Updated Feb 14, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux Kernel bonding module allows local users to crash the system or execute code with kernel privileges. The enslave path updates the bond's slave array before XDP setup completes, so error cleanup can free a slave that packet transmission still uses. Triggering the race requires local privileges to configure an XDP-enabled bond, repeatedly enslave an interface, and drive concurrent traffic.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
