Local denial of service via missing net pointer
Published Feb 14, 2026 · Updated Feb 14, 2026
Denial of service in affected Linux Kernel releases allows local users to interrupt the system through a crafted bare XDP socket buffer. The bonding flow-dissect path passes a null network-namespace pointer to __skb_flow_dissect when the buffer has neither a device nor a socket; the fix supplies dev_net(bond->dev). Local access with permission to invoke BPF program testing and reach the bonding XDP transmit path is required, and the demonstrated result is an availability-only kernel failure.
