CVE-2026-23070

Kernel panic via unchecked firmware-data pointer

Published Feb 4, 2026 · Updated Feb 4, 2026

Null-pointer dereference in the Linux kernel allows local users to trigger a kernel panic through OcteonTX2 AF firmware-data access. rvu_sdp_init dereferences rvu->fwdata without first checking whether firmware mapped the shared structure, while the link-mode mailbox handler likewise lacks a null guard. The affected path is limited to Marvell OcteonTX boards booted without a CGX/RPM MAC block, where the invalid access interrupts the host by panicking the kernel.
