Kernel memory leak via unfreed KVM device
Published Jan 31, 2026 · Updated Jan 31, 2026
Memory leak in LoongArch KVM in Linux Kernel 6.13 through 6.18.6 allows local users to consume kernel memory via device creation. kvm_pch_pic_destroy() frees the PCH PIC state but fails to free the kvm_device allocated by kvm_ioctl_create_device(). Access to LoongArch KVM device creation is required, and repeated create-destroy cycles leave kernel allocations unreclaimed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
