Local kernel crash via unchecked devlink allocation
Published Jan 31, 2026 · Updated Jan 31, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the Marvell Prestera devlink driver in the Linux Kernel allows local users to crash the kernel. prestera_devlink_alloc() passes a NULL result from devlink_alloc() to devlink_priv() without first checking whether allocation succeeded. Reachability requires local low-privileged access, the Prestera driver, and a devlink allocation failure; the reported consequence is a kernel crash.
