Authenticated stored script execution via attribute boundary confusion
Published May 12, 2026 · Updated May 12, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Bjørn Johansen's BJ Lazy Load 1.0.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run scripts in visitors' browsers. The filter_images() function uses preg_replace() to rewrite src attributes without preserving HTML attribute boundaries, so crafted text inside a class value becomes executable DOM attributes. Contributor-level access is required to store the payload in page content, and the script runs when a visitor opens the affected page.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
