CVE-2026-22869Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Repository code execution via untrusted pull request checkout

Published Jan 13, 2026 · Updated Jan 13, 2026

Code injection in Eigent before bf02500bbbab0f01cd0ed8e6dc21fe5683d6bfb5 allows remote attackers to execute code through fork pull requests. The pull_request_target workflow checks out the fork's head SHA and invokes npx markdownlint-cli, allowing a malicious node_modules/.bin/markdownlint-cli from the pull request to run with repository write permissions and secrets. Opening a fork pull request that changes Markdown is sufficient to expose the CI token and lets the executed code read secrets, comment on pull requests, alter repository content, or create releases.
