Arbitrary code execution via unescaped operation summary
Published Jan 12, 2026 · Updated Jan 12, 2026
Code injection in Orval before 7.18.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted OpenAPI operation summary. The generateServer logic in packages/mcp/src/index.ts interpolates verbOption.summary into a single-quoted server.tool call without JavaScript string escaping. Exploitation requires an attacker-controlled specification to reach MCP server generation; execution occurs when the generated server code runs.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
