CVE-2026-2271Public exploit

Application crash via wrapped PSP metadata length

Published Mar 26, 2026 · Updated Mar 26, 2026

Integer overflow in GIMP's PSP parser on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 through 9 allows remote attackers to crash GIMP via a crafted image. The read_creator_block() function adds one to an unvalidated 32-bit Creator-block length, wraps the allocation to zero, then reads that declared length and writes a terminator out of bounds. Exploitation requires a user to open the attacker-supplied PSP file and interrupts only that GIMP process.
