CVE-2026-22705

Signing-key disclosure via variable-time ML-DSA division

Published Jan 10, 2026 · Updated Jan 10, 2026

Timing side channel in RustCrypto Signatures before 0.1.0-rc.2 allows attackers to infer ML-DSA signing-key information. The ml-dsa decompose function divides secret-derived r1.0 by TwoGamma2::U32 with a hardware division whose runtime varies with operand values. Exploitation requires low-privileged adjacent access and sufficiently precise repeated timing measurements; the reported impact is signing-key information disclosure.
