Stored XSS via unsafe companyName DOM insertion
Published Jun 18, 2026 · Updated Jun 18, 2026
Stored XSS in Hedera Hashgraph Guardian 3.6.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in other users' browsers. The branding service and branding component assign the stored companyName value to innerHTML at three DOM insertion points instead of treating it as text. A STANDARD_REGISTRY role is required to submit the crafted branding value, which then runs on every page load for authenticated users and can act in their browser context.
