Site ownership transfer or deletion via slashless routes
Published Jan 10, 2026 · Updated Jan 10, 2026
Authorization bypass in Ghost 5.121.0 through 5.130.5 and 6.0.0 through 6.10.3 allows remote authenticated users to access session-only Admin routes. Admin API middleware matched DELETE /db/ and PUT /users/owner/ exactly, although Express also routed the slashless forms. An external system needs a Staff Token for an Admin- or Owner-role user; it can then delete all site content or transfer site ownership.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
