Invalid repository creation via missing field constraints
Published Jul 3, 2026 · Updated Jul 3, 2026
Improper input validation in Gitea before 1.25.5 allows attackers to submit invalid repository creation values through web or API requests. CreateRepoForm and CreateRepoOption omit maximum-length checks for template fields and enum checks for object format and trust model values. Reachability requires permission to create a repository; Gitea has not published a concrete confidentiality, integrity, or availability consequence.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
