Unauthenticated file deletion via attachment endpoint
Published Mar 5, 2026 · Updated Mar 5, 2026
Arbitrary file deletion in Directorist FormGent 1.9.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete server files through a REST request. The unauthenticated attachment endpoint decodes a Base64 file_token and passes its traversal path to deletion logic without adequate containment. On Linux, when the FormGent uploads directory does not exist, traversal can reach wp-config.php; deleting it interrupts the site and enables reinstallation takeover.
