Local crash via undersized image dimensions
Published Feb 9, 2026 · Updated Feb 9, 2026
Memory corruption in AprilTag 3.4.0 through 3.4.5 allows local users to crash an embedding process through an undersized image. apriltag_detector_detect accepts images narrower or shorter than six pixels, allowing gradient_clusters to pass an invalid cluster pointer to zarray_size. The public Linux x86_64 reproducer demonstrates SIGSEGV and SIGILL process crashes, with no demonstrated code execution.
