CVE-2026-22444Network attack vector

Unauthorized configset use via unchecked core paths

Published Jan 21, 2026 · Updated Jan 21, 2026

Improper input validation in Apache Solr 8.6 through 9.10.0 allows remote attackers to create cores from disallowed filesystem paths. The create core API checks and reads attacker-supplied paths without consistently enforcing allowPaths, permitting selection of accessible unexpected configsets. Exposure requires standalone mode, restrictive allowPaths configuration, and create-core access for an untrusted user; Windows UNC paths can also disclose NTLM user hashes.
