CVE-2026-2238Network attack vector

Unauthenticated issue-reference disclosure via missing authorization

Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026

Missing authorization in GitLab CE/EE allows remote attackers to view confidential issue references through public projects. The Rapid Diffs renderer exposes confidential-issue references because its reference-rendering path omits the required authorization check. The issue is remotely reachable without authentication when a public project contains such a reference; affected releases are 17.5 before 18.11.6, 19.0 before 19.0.3, and 19.1 before 19.1.1.
