Local command execution with root privileges
Published Jan 30, 2026 · Updated Jan 30, 2026
OS command injection in Dell Technologies UnityVSA 5.4 and earlier allows local users to execute commands with root privileges. Dell has not disclosed the affected proprietary-code component, the input that reaches it, or the OS command construction that fails to neutralize special elements. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access to the appliance; successful use crosses that boundary and executes arbitrary commands as root.
