Authenticated root command execution via raw grep
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
OS command injection in Roxy-WI before 8.2.8.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands on the syslog server. The log viewer places the raw grep value beside a sanitized copy in a sudo shell pipeline, so an embedded newline starts another command. Reachability requires log access, non-default syslog_server_enable=1, and a configured server with SSH access; injected commands run as root.
