CVE-2026-22252Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated root command execution via MCP stdio

Published Jan 12, 2026 · Updated Jan 12, 2026

Improper authorization in LibreChat before 0.8.2-rc2 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root in its container. The MCPServerUserInputSchema accepts stdio configurations from the MCP server API, and constructTransport passes their commands and arguments directly to StdioClientTransport. Account registration and MCP server creation are enabled by default, so any registered user can read or alter container data, access mounted directories, and interrupt the service without user interaction.
