Root command execution via description quote breakout
Published Feb 2, 2026 · Updated Feb 2, 2026
OS command injection in TP-Link Archer BE230 v1.2 and Archer AX73 v2 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as root. The get_ovpn_data() path accepts a single quote in the des field, interpolates it into a quoted shell command, and passes the result to os.execute(). Administrative LAN access is required; successful injection runs as root and permits complete device compromise.
