CVE-2026-22218Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file read via unchecked element path

Published Jan 19, 2026 · Updated Jan 19, 2026

Path traversal in Chainlit before 2.9.4 allows remote authenticated users to read service-accessible files via a crafted element. The /project/element handler accepts every field of a custom Element, and persist_file opens and copies its user-controlled path without restriction. A valid Chainlit session is required; the returned chainlitKey exposes the copied file through /project/file, with no reported write access.
