Unauthenticated shortcode execution via comment email notifications
Published Mar 13, 2026 · Updated Mar 13, 2026
Shortcode injection in wpDiscuz before 7.6.47 allows remote attackers to execute server-side shortcodes through comment email notifications. The WpdiscuzHelperEmail class passes attacker-controlled comment content to do_shortcode() before wp_mail(), causing installed shortcode handlers to process it. The original CNA record required only comment submission, but the current CVE record replaces wpDiscuz with an unrelated product, leaving this association disputed.
