Local process crash via unbounded glyph formatting
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Panda3D egg-mkfont 1.10.16 and earlier allows local users to crash the utility via a crafted glyph pattern. EggMakeFont::run formats the -gp argument with unbounded sprintf into a 1,024-byte stack buffer without validating its length. Execution requires local invocation of egg-mkfont with a crafted pattern; the demonstrated consequence is a deterministic process crash, while code execution remains environment-dependent.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
