Command execution via quoted shell substitution
Published Mar 18, 2026 · Updated Mar 18, 2026
Command injection in OpenClaw before 2026.2.22 allows remote authenticated users to execute non-allowlisted commands on macOS node hosts. ExecCommandResolution accepted an allowlisted first executable while overlooking $() and backtick substitutions inside double-quoted shell text. Exploitation requires the macOS node-host path, high-privilege access, security=allowlist, and ask mode set to on-miss or off; default security=deny installs are unaffected.
