Environment variable injection in OpenClaw before 2026.2.21 allows local users to execute code during Gateway startup. collectConfigEnvVars accepts process-control keys from config env.vars, and buildGatewayInstallPlan merges them into the daemon environment without filtering. Exploitation requires permission to alter OpenClaw configuration; injected NODE_OPTIONS, LD_, or DYLD_ values execute in the Gateway service context.
