CVE-2026-2216Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated arbitrary file read via path traversal

Published Feb 9, 2026 · Updated Feb 9, 2026

Path traversal in rachelos WeRSS 1.4.0 through 1.4.8 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files via a crafted filename. The download_export_file function builds a filesystem path from filename and returns it through FileResponse without confirming that the path remains inside the export directory. A low-privileged authenticated session is required, and the read is limited to files accessible to the service process.
