Authenticated account takeover via unescaped custom hotkeys
Published Jan 12, 2026 · Updated Jan 12, 2026
Stored XSS in HumanSignal Label Studio 1.22.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to take over accounts via custom hotkeys. The base.html template marks JSON-serialized user.custom_hotkeys as safe without escaping closing script tags, letting stored markup break out of the inline script. A low-privileged account can persist the payload through the user API; a victim who loads an affected page executes it, exposing the victim's API token and API access.
