CVE-2026-22027Public exploit

Heap corruption via unchecked MariaDB hex decoding

Published Jan 10, 2026 · Updated Jan 10, 2026

Heap-based buffer overflow in CryptoLib before 1.4.3 allows local users to corrupt heap memory through oversized MariaDB SA fields. The MariaDB SA interface's convert_hexstring_to_byte_array() loop decodes an entire database hex string into fixed-size IV, ARSN, or ABM storage without checking destination capacity. Reaching the flaw requires control of SA database contents; loading the crafted row can corrupt adjacent heap fields, crash the process, or cause undefined behavior.
