Authenticated router crash via unchecked shareSpeed copy
Published Feb 9, 2026 · Updated Feb 9, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC8 firmware 16.03.33.05 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router via shareSpeed. In httpd's fromSetWifiGusetBasic function, strcpy copies the unchecked /goform/WifiGuestSet shareSpeed value past a stack buffer. A valid management password is required; the public proof of concept demonstrates a segmentation fault, while code execution is not demonstrated.
