Root privilege escalation via CLI command injection
Published Apr 9, 2026 · Updated Apr 9, 2026
OS command injection in Juniper Networks Virtual Lightweight Collector before 3.0.94 allows local users to execute commands as root. The CLI menu insufficiently validates allowed input before passing it to a root-privileged shell, permitting shell metacharacters to escape the menu. High-privilege access to the local JSI shell is required; successful injection grants complete control of the appliance.
