Unauthenticated service outage via traffic-induced FXPC crash
Published Jan 15, 2026 · Updated Jan 15, 2026
Improper resource initialization in Junos OS allows remote attackers to crash EX4000 switching via high-volume traffic. The Internal Device Manager on EX4000-48T, EX4000-48P, and EX4000-48MP switches mishandles resource initialization under sustained device-destined traffic, triggering an FXPC watchdog panic and restart. No authentication or user interaction is required, and sufficient traffic causes a complete service outage until the switch automatically restarts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
