Unauthenticated root code execution via exposed anomaly API
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Incorrect permissions in Junos OS Evolved 25.4 on PTX Series allow remote attackers to execute code as root through the anomaly service. The externally exposed API on TCP port 8160 accepts unauthenticated command definitions of type RE-SHELL, then executes them through enabled DAG instances. The service is enabled by default, so network reachability is the only gate; successful exploitation gives complete control of the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
