Screenshot disclosure via unrestricted media serving
Published Jan 14, 2026 · Updated Jan 14, 2026
Improper access control in Weblate before 5.15.2 allows remote attackers to read screenshot images by guessing their filenames. Bundled Apache and nginx configurations mapped DATA_DIR/media directly to /media/ with unrestricted access rather than passing requests through Weblate. Exploitation requires an existing screenshot and knowledge or successful guessing of its filename; the reported consequence is screenshot disclosure only.
