Server shutdown via unhandled RESTORE parse error
Published Feb 24, 2026 · Updated Feb 24, 2026
Improper input validation in Valkey valkey-bloom before 1.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to shut down the server via RESTORE. The module parses malformed RDB data but fails to enable HANDLE_IO_ERRORS, so Valkey converts the reported parse error into a fatal assertion. Access to the RESTORE command is required; successful exploitation terminates the Valkey server without reported confidentiality or integrity impact.
