Heap over-read via unterminated Unicode profile text
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
Heap-buffer overflow in iccDEV before 2.3.1.2 allows remote attackers to trigger an out-of-bounds read via crafted ICC profiles. CIccLocalizedUnicode::GetText() scans a UTF-16 buffer for a null terminator without limiting the pointer to m_nLength, so malformed text is read beyond the heap allocation. Exploitation requires a user or application to process an attacker-supplied profile; the demonstrated result is an AddressSanitizer abort, while confidentiality and integrity effects remain publicly undemonstrated.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
