Credential disclosure via plaintext firmware storage
Published Feb 27, 2026 · Updated Feb 27, 2026
Plaintext credential storage in Johnson Controls FRICK Quantum HD 10.22 and earlier allows local users to extract email passwords from firmware. The firmware embeds email account credentials and stores their passwords without encryption, exposing reusable secrets when the firmware image is read. Local firmware access is required; the disclosed flaw exposes credentials but does not itself alter controller data or interrupt refrigeration control.
