Process crash via unchecked XML child dereference
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
Null pointer dereference in iccDEV before 2.3.1.2 allows local users to crash an ICC-profile conversion process with crafted XML. CIccProfileXml::ParseBasic reads content through absent child pointers in empty ProfileVersion or ProfileSubClassVersion elements. Exploitation requires a user or consuming application to process the XML; the demonstrated consequence is an affected-process crash only.
