Application crash via empty RenderingIntent element
Published Jan 7, 2026 · Updated Jan 7, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in the iccDEV XML parser before 2.3.1.2 allows context-dependent attackers to crash an application. CIccProfileXml::ParseBasic reads pNode->children->content for an empty RenderingIntent element without checking whether the child node exists. Exploitation requires an application or user to process a crafted XML profile; the demonstrated consequence is an availability-only application crash.
